Meet The Owner

Ray Overmann - CEO and Owner

Ray Overmann is proud to be a homegrown St. Louisan. After gaining 10 years of teaching experience as a physical educator, he founded Olympia Gymnastics in 1979 in Florissant. He coached competitive gymnastics for the Parkway School District and for Olympia for 10 years. Ray earned a master’s degree in education from Southeast Missouri State. In 1992, he opened Team Central Gymnastics Academy in Maryland Heights, a non-profit gymnastics school, where he is the Executive Director. Ray remains involved with each location and believes in providing opportunities for children of all abilities. Olympia/TC proudly employs more than 300 St. Louisians.

Janice Bell - CFO and Director of Human Resources

Janice Bell has worked with Olympia Gymnastics for more than 25 years in several capacities. She currently serves as C.F.O., Director of Human Resources and Area Supervisor while working closely with Ray Overmann and Corporate Office Team. Janice’s passionate loyalty to the company comes from her belief in the positive mission of Olympia Gymnastics and the lasting influence it has made in the lives of others. She is proud of her association with such a highly regarded St. Louis business.

Julie Giamanco - Corporate Administrator & Bookkeeper

Julie joined the Olympia team in 2011. She brings with her over 13 years of office and bookkeeping experience from a very similar industry. Julie is responsible for the payroll duties for all gym locations and the Corporate Office. She handles the accounts payable and receivables as well as other accounting tasks. She also tracks and coordinates the professional growth calendar for our staff. She enjoys her job and is looking forward to a long relationship with Olympia.

Shelly Peterson - Marketing Manager & Corporate Office Manager

Shelly originally began her path with Olympia as a gymnast, then an instructor, and soon joined the competitive team coaching staff. After graduating from college in 1999 with a Bachelors of Business Administration from UMSL, she joined the corporate office as an administrative assistant and later became the Corporate Office Manager. Shelly is also the District Birthday Party Coordinator, Pro-Shop Coordinator and works with Marketing, Social Media & Website.

Olympia StaffNoel Schumer - Administrative Assistant

Noel originally began as a gymnast at Olympia Manchester; she then became an instructor and soon joined the competitive team staff. Noel left the field of gymnastics for awhile but returned to Olympia Manchester in 2012 as a competitive team coach. In September 2014, she joined the corporate office staff as an Administrative Assistant.


Olympia StaffJanet Cook - Hiring Manager

Janet Cook has recently returned to Olympia after a 17 year hiatus! She began her career with us at our Olympia Olde Towne-St. Peters location in 1983, when her daughter was a part of the Team program there. Janet (also known as J.C.) was an invaluable part of the leadership team during the company's early years and served as Gym Manager, Area Manager and corporate leader. She is currently playing an integral role at corporate office, assisting with recruiting and growth and development of the new Ninja program.

trishTrish Dubos - Senior Business Manager

I've lived all over the place but spent most of my life in California. I grew up as a competitive gymnast and later became a coach of state and regional champions. I owned a gym with my husband in California before moving to St. Louis in 2014 and beginning my work with Olympia. I have two daughters and one granddaughter. I love to knit and sew (especially for my granddaughter) and I also love to read and have interesting conversations. I can answer questions about any of the programs or the staff. Bonnie Campbell - Gym Manager at Manchester & Ninja City/ Girls Gymnastics District Director

I began my career with Olympia in 1984 here at our West location. In 1990, I transferred to Olympia Ellisville to open the new location as the Progressive Director. In 2004, I transferred back to Olympia West to become the Gym Manager. I have been a coach for more than 20 years and was a competitive gymnast. I love working for Olympia because I truly believe it is good for kids.

MidRivers GMJane Hefley - Gym Managers at Mid Rivers/Ninja City

I began my journey with Olympia in 1981, first as a Tumble Bee instructor, then Office Manager and finally as Gym Manager. I’m a proud grandmother of five, three of which attend classes at Olympia Mid Rivers. I am always happy to assist customers with registration, payments and general questions about our fantastic programs. I love being a part of the St. Peters community and have a facility of this caliber in my backyard.

Chesterfield GM

Dean Howren - Gym Manager at Chesterfield

I was born and raised in St. Louis and I have spent the last 7 1/2 years in youth development programming: 4 years as a Summer Camp Director and Sports Coordinator with the Chesterfield YMCA and 3 years with the Wildwood YMCA as a Program Director overseeing youth and adult sports, summer camp, dance and gymnastics, and teen and family programming. I joined the Olympia Team in August of 2013. Youth Development and physical education is a passion of mine and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with families in the Chesterfield area, helping to fulfill the Olympia Mission of building Happy, Healthy, Confident children!

Ellisville GM

Ellen Serafini - Gym Manager at Ellisville/Ninja City

I was first introduced to Olympia in 2000 as a parent. My daughter was a gymnast at Olympia Ellisville and Team Central and is currently a member of the Southeast Missouri State gymnastics team. In 2004, I joined our office staff. I enjoy working with people and have more than 31 years of customer service experience. I am here to answer questions about: class registrations, coupons, general team/meet questions and our pro-shop. I enjoy working at Olympia because of the variety of challenges, getting to take on new responsibilities, and the continuous learning. I also love the customers and my fellow employees. We work hard but have a lot of fun!

Festus GM

Kristie Marnin - Gym Manager & Dance Director at Festus

I starting working at Olympia in 2003 as the Team Director and became Gym Manager in 2008. I was very active in gymnastics and dance as a child, winning many state and national titles. I have been coaching for 15 years and have experience with preschool through Level 10. My degree is in business arts, and I am a USAG Professional Member. I believe gymnastics teaches good values, confidence and respect. I am happy to work in such a positive environment on a daily basis.


Joy Heitz - Gym Manager at Rock Hill

Born and raised in South St. Louis, my roots run deep within the city. I love this place we call home and all its history, tradition, and great food it has to offer. As a former gymnast, coach, and now gym mom; gymnastics has greatly influenced who I am and it still a prominent part of my life. I began my journey with Olympia Gymnastics as a full time coach in January 2011. I was given the opportunity to manage Olympia Rock Hill in fall 2019. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful children. I enjoy all things related to music and the outdoors. I have a passion for life, people, and gymnastics; and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share that with the local community!
